honestly i do not know how to cook (as evidenced by my recent cake disaster.... probably my greatest flop of 2020). when i was living in the dorms 2 years ago i would cook the saddest and most boring vegetables for myself (like kale stir fried with salt and pepper) and then i would be like, well this doesn't taste GOOD but i have to eat it bc it's VEGETABLES! and then i learned that even if u have awful cooking intuition there are tons of people on the internet who actually have good taste.
also i think this is definitely shaped by me not liking my parents' cooking at all... i can't think of a vegetable dish they cook at home that i love or even really like. so it has been a process of self-discovery..
